DAY 1 : Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu >
Airport pick up by our guide to a hotel situated in the heart of Thamel, one of the busiest and popular markets in Kathmandu. Kindly inform us your time of arrival. Our guide will brief you on the trip information and bring you to the best eateries/ shopping at your request.
DAY 2 : Kathmandu to Chyamche >
Maximum height: 1430m
From the capital, we will take a long 9 hour drive to Chyamche via Besisahar (820m). Along the route, you can enjoy the glorious views of the snow capped mountain range and terraced rice field in the local areas.
DAY 3 : Chyamche-Dharapani >
Maximum height: 1860m | 6-7 hours of walking
You will follow the Marsyangdi river all the way and cross a flat valley, waterfalls and rocky trails towards Dharapani. Once we reach, you will see the stone chortens, an architecture of religious significance to the Tibetans. You will stay here for a night.
DAY 4 : Dharapani-Chame >
Maximum height: 2670m | 5-6 hours of walking
You will traverse the rough and rocky trails to Timang first and continues through lush forests near the river to Kopar. Approaching Chame, the capital village of the Manang district, you will be rewarded by majestic views of Annapurna range, Lamjung Himal, Pisang peaks and two burbling hot springs.
DAY 5 : Chame- Upper Pisang >
Maximum height: 33000m | 6-7 hours of walking
You will walk through lush pine forests and see the perfect annapurna view as you ascend. On the way you will see the famous rock “Door of Heaven” which is absolutely instaworthy.
DAY 6 : Upper Pisang- Manang Village>
Maximum height: 3540m | 6 hours of walking
You will be following the Marsyangdi river and you can choose between two routes – north or south of the Marsyandi which both meet at Mungji. You can take the either the Hongde, with a little less climbing, or Ghyaru, a slightly more challenging route which has more picturesque views. Either one will bring us to our guesthouse at Manang.
DAY 7 : Acclimatization Day at Manang Village >
Maximum height: 4000m | 2 – 3 hours of walking
You will have your much-needed rest and acclimatize in Manang. There is lots of exploring to do in this bustling village filled with local cafes, eateries, and a movie house. At this altititude, you can soak in the phenomenal face of the mountain that are literally right outside your window.
DAY 8 : Manang Village to Yak Kharka >
Maximum height: 4020m | 3 - 4 hours of walking
From the village of Manang, you will continue on to the village of Yak Kharka. As you cross streams, you trek up to village of Tenki, a dainty village of the Limbu people. The trail is full of amazing natural biodiversity and is very peaceful. We will then follow the valley northwards and pass lush pastures to trek through scrubs of juniper hamlets. You will then reach the village of Ghunsa. Passing ancient Mani stone walls and wooden bridges, we will finally reach Yak Kharka.
DAY 9 : Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi >
Maximum height: 4450m | 3 – 4 hours walking
You will trek to Thorong Phedi bas camp point and stop for the day. You may see some hikers trekking to the High Camp today so that they have a shorter ascent the next day. Do check with you trekking guide if you prefer this option. Our take is we rather you have a restful night at lower altitude than be at the higher and more crowded High Camp for the night before you embark on the most challenging part of the trek.
DAY 10 : Thorong Phedi to Muktinath crossing over the Thorong La Pass >
Maximum height: 5416m | 7 - 8 hours of walking
We will make an early start on our climb to the pass. This is a very steep pass. As we approach the peak, the trail becomes slushy from melted snow. Making our way through rocky ridges, you will arrive at the top of the pass (5416m). The top offers an indescribably magnificent 360 degree panorama of the snow-capped peaks that extend northwards into Tibet. We can also see several peaks of the Annapurna and the beautiful gorge of Kali Gandaki. Our trail then descends steeply down to Muktinath (3800m) – an important pilgrimage site for the Hindu and Buddhist people.
DAY 11 : Muktinath - Jonsom >
Maximum height: 3760m | 6 hours walk
You will visit the Muktinath temple early in the morning. One of the most distinctive features of this temple is the 108 water taps constructed in the shape of a cow’s head and two small pounds. The Hindu people believe that if you take a bath under all 108 taps (108 is a sacred number in Tibetan Buddhism), you will free yourself from the sin which you committed in your past life. After breakfast, you will start trekking to Jomsom via the Jharkot village.
DAY 12 : Fly from Jonsom to Pokhara >
Maximum height: 2720m
DAY 13 : Pokhara to Kathmandu >
Catch the early bus to Kathmandu and stay the night in Kathmandu. You deserve a celebratory dinner before you depart for home. Check with your guide for dining recommendation.
DAY 14 : Departure >
Do some last minute shopping or take your own sweet time in Kathmandu before you depart for home. Our guide will drop you at the airport.
