These peaks will be so close that it will seem like we can touch them if we extended our hands.
DAY 10 : Chhukung – Lobucha >
Lobucha at 4910m via Kongma-la pass 5535m
This is our first big day of the trek. This is also one of the toughest days. We will be carrying required amount of water and some packed meals as there are no lodges / tea shops along the route. Once we climb like 5-6 hours we will reach the top of Kongma La Pass; a small area covered with Buddhist praying flags. The descending from the top is quite tough even it's descending. Moreover, in case the trail is covered with ice or snow then it will surely be exhausting. Finally, we will reach Lobuche. We can enjoy magnificent views of Pumori and Nuptse from this village.
DAY 11 : Lobuche – Gorak Shep - Everest Base Camp >

The first section of the trail from Lobuche follows the narrow gap between the glacial moraine and the mountain wall, past the turn-off to the Italian Pyramid. After a couple of short but steep climbs and a 45-minute traverse of the terminal moraine of the Changri Shar Glacier, you’ll reach Gorak Shep, a flat, sandy bowl at 5,160m, at the foot of Kala Pattar.

The path to Kala Pattar climbs up the grassy ridge above Gorak Shep. It takes around 2 hours to scale the summit (5,545m). As you climb, the peak of Pumori looms dramatically ahead. By climbing 200m, you have placed yourself in front of the most astonishing views on earth – a 360-degree panorama of Himalayan giants from Pumori and Lobuche in the west to Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest in the east. Then you will head back to Gorak Shep and go downhill to Dzongla via Lobucha village.
