Of course it is! Because it is so famous for its imposing mountains, many people have the idea that it only attracts the sort of travellers who can ‘rough it out’ in the wild. That is definitely a misconception. All year round, Nepal sees travellers of all ages, interests and budget. If you are visiting for the first time, you certainly don’t have to be rugged or athletic to enjoy the highlights of Nepal.
So what kind of travel experience are you looking for? Read on to find out what Nepal has to offer.
You need a break from the drudgery of work and you want to turn to nature for a breath of fresh air. There is no need to endure days and weeks of trekking to see what Nepal is known for – mountains. A short 2 day one night hike to the Australian Camp gives you a superb view of the Annapurna range. If you don’t fancy any hiking, what about a taxi ride to Sarangkot to enjoy the 360 panaromic view of the golden snow-capped Annapurna?
Many hostels and hotels in Pokhara give you an obstructed view of the mountains. Literally every corner of Lakeside is mushroomed with hotels and hostels. From budget dormitories to 4-star hotels, you can definitely find an accommodation that suits your budget

One of favourite mid-range boutique hotels-Hotel Karuna. This is a cosy little space to do some reading and chilling out.

A mini breakfast buffet with good Himalayan coffee.

Hotel Batika– another mid range hotel situated near the (way) more pricey Glacier Hotel.

If you are prepared to shell out ~700 USD, you can get a luxurious stay in Dwarika’s Resort in Dhulikel. An infinity pool at the top of the hill says it all.
At Lakeside, there are also many fine restaurants, local eateries, hipster cafes and massage parlours to spend a lazy afternoon. For vegans/vegetarians, there are also plenty of food choices available!

One of my favourite burgers – Vege patty burger! Almost every restaurant serve a generous portion of burger with sides. This costs only 150 rupees (about 1.50 USD)

Avocado on sourdough from Juiciery café.
Besides Pokhara, you should also explore other cities like Kathmandu and Bandipur and understand their rich heritage and culture (See sightseeing tours). We recommend 6-9 days for a holiday like this.

A view of the lake from the north side. Great day for a boating trip.
If an adventurous holiday is right up your alley, you will consider doing some serious hiking. In Nepal, the kind of mountain view you get depends on how much you earn for it. Poonhill, Mardi Himal or the Annapurna Base Camp treks offer very rewarding views of the mountain range. Such treks span between 5-12 days. If you come to Nepal for trekking, you cannot miss these holy grails.
When you legs turn sore, retreating back to the city for a good massage, hot shower and some sightseeing are much needed. You would want to spend the rest of your holiday exploring the cities and towns in Nepal and if you are up for it, there are plenty of adventure sports to set your adrenaline pumping! We recommend 12-20 days for a holiday like this.

It’d be a no brainer to tell you that paragliding in Nepal gives you a very rewarding view of the mountains. Don’t miss it!
You have set yourself a milestone to reach and you want to push yourself to your limits to achieve that goal. You choose a trail that’s the least travelled and test your endurance against the harsh mountain conditions. Then, a trek above 5000m in altitude is what you are looking for. In the event that the Everest Base Camp trek fail to interest you, consider the Everest Three Pass trek. If you are into technical climb expeditions, it is important to do your research properly and engage only the reputable ones for your venture.
